Who we are
TutorTap makes Cambridge Primary practice worksheets for families and teachers. We are based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. For anything about your data, message us on WhatsApp +255 754 891 423.
What we collect
- If you only browse: nothing that identifies you. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we set no cookies. Like every website, our host processes your device's internet address so it can deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks.
- When you create an account: your name, email address, WhatsApp number and a password. The password is stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody at TutorTap can read it.
- About your children: each child's first name and school Year, so we can show the right worksheets. We don't ask for surnames, birthdays, schools or photos.
- When you order and pay: the plan you chose, the amount, the dates, and the details that arrive with your payment (the name and the number or account it came from), so we can match it to your order. We never see or keep card numbers or mobile money PINs.
- When you message us: whatever you send us on WhatsApp.
Why we use it
- To run your account, open your plan and let you download worksheets.
- To match your payment to your order and send your receipt.
- To remind you before your plan ends, and to answer your questions.
- To keep the business records that tax law requires.
We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't send you marketing messages unless you ask us to.
Who helps us
These companies process data for us. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.
- Supabase runs our database and logins. Your account, your children's details and your orders are stored on its servers in Ireland, in the European Union.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and delivers its pages.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries the messages you send us, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
- Your mobile money provider or bank handles your payment under its own terms.
Our fonts and code are served from our own website, so no other company (such as Google) learns that you visited.
Storing data outside Tanzania
Our database is in Ireland, which is covered by the European Union's data protection law. When you create an account, you agree to your details and your children's details being stored there.
How long we keep it
- Your account and your children's details: while your account is open. Ask us to delete your account and we delete them within 30 days.
- Order and payment records: for as long as Tanzanian tax law requires us to keep business records, then we delete them.
How we keep it safe
- Everything travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
- The database lets each family see only its own account, children and orders. Only the TutorTap owner account can see all orders, so that payments can be confirmed.
- Members' worksheets sit in private storage and open through download links that stop working after 5 minutes.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete your account, or stop using your data for a particular purpose. You can also withdraw your consent at any time by asking us to close your account. Message us on WhatsApp and we will reply within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission of Tanzania or, if you live elsewhere, to the data protection authority in your country.
Children
Accounts are opened and managed by a parent, guardian or teacher aged 18 or over. Children use TutorTap through that adult's account, with their permission; they shouldn't open accounts of their own. For each child we hold only what the adult enters: a first name and a school Year.
Some features are made for children to use, such as progress tracking, certificates and, later, interactive worksheets. When those arrive, the parent or teacher stays in charge: they can see and delete anything saved about their child, and we will update this policy and ask for their consent before we collect anything new about a child.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data, we tell members first.
